JOHN R. ROSS was born in New Bern, North Carolina in 1938. He received his BS degree in Nuclear Engineering at North Carolina State College and JD Degree in Law at Duquesne University at Pittsburgh. Mr. Ross began his professional career as a Test Engineer at Shippingport Nuclear Power Station near Pittsburgh, PA where he was later put in charge of physics tests on the station's reactor. While working for Duquesne Light Company, Mr. Ross attended Law School at Duquesne University and upon graduation joined the Law Department of Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Ross' principal client was Westinghouse's Nuclear Energy Systems, the leading supplier of Nuclear Plants during the late 1960's, and early 1970's time frame. In 1974, Mr. Ross moved to the San Diego Law Department of General Atomic Company where he was primarily engaged in Major Litigation and Intellectual Property until 1986. Mr. Ross opened the Ross Patent Law Office in 1984. In 1986, Mr. Ross accepted a position as General Counsel at Western Research Corporation, a small San Diego R & D Company engaged in Star Wars research. Western Research was later acquired by Thermo Electric Corporation and became Thermo Trex Corporation. Mr. Ross' work for Western Research and Thermo Trex mostly involved intellectual property. After leaving Thermo Trex, Mr. Ross was employed full time as Intellectual Property Counsel at Cymer, Inc., the world's leading supplier of excimer lasers for integrated circuit lithography.  In April of 2003, Mr. Ross left Cymer, Inc. and accepted a position as the Vice President Intellectual Property at Trex Enterprises Corporation.  Mr. Ross has been an attorney since 1968 and a patent attorney since 1981, is a member of the California State Bar, San Diego County and American Bar Associations, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

JOHN R. ROSS, III was born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1965. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Naval Academy in 1988. Upon graduation, Mr. Ross served six years as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy.  While serving in the Navy, Mr. Ross served as an officer onboard two destroyers while deployed to the Western Pacific.  Mr. Ross finished his time in the Navy while on shore duty at Fleet Combat Training Center Pacific (FCTCPAC) in Point Loma, CA.  In 1993, while still in the Navy and on shore duty, Mr. Ross entered law school at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, CA, and later graduated in 1996.  Mr. Ross first began working with his father at Ross Patent Law Office as a law clerk in 1995 while still attending law school, and later became a partner. As a patent attorney with years of experience, Mr. Ross has helped many clients obtain patent protection in a variety of practice areas, including many patents covering the electrical and mechanical areas of practice.  In addition, Mr. Ross has also successfully obtained trademark and servicemark protection for his clients. Mr. Ross is a member of the California State Bar, San Diego County and American Bar Associations, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
